This website commemorates the life and work of Hugh Mellor. Hugh, who published under the name D.H. Mellor, was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, where he taught from 1971 to 2005. He was also a Fellow of Darwin College Cambridge and Pembroke College Cambridge.

Hugh’s work was primarily in metaphysics, notably on the metaphysics of time, probability and causation, but he also made substantial contributions to the philosophies of science, mind, and decision theory. In his spare time he was an amateur theatre actor.
